Plant life

There are a certain plants that can survive the desert. These plants have to have certain qualities that other plants do not. The first quality is that of being able to survive up to a year without a normal source of water. These plants can save water from a rare rainfall and store them in their leaves and branches. Other plants gain water from underground water sources with their long roots.   (University of Richmond, par 1)
